Solvent Resistant Emulsion

This solvent resistant emulsion including one big bottle of photogelatin and one small bag of photosensitizer powder, which can be used as stencil material to make screen after well mixed preparation.

The stencil material must be of a material that is impermeable to the screen printing ink, this solvent resistant emulsions can be used along with water based inks and UV curable inks.

Working Instruction
  • a. Put the photosensitizer powder into a container and blend it with 50ml pour water evenly.

  • b. Pour the liquor after fully mixed and dissolved into the big bottle of photogelatin liquid cement.

  • c. Fully churn it. After the bubbles have disappeared then you can use.

Note

  • Net weight: 2.1Lb (0.95kg) + 0.009Lb (0.004g) / set
  • Storage: in a cool and dark place of 41F ¨C 59F (5¡æ ¨C 15¡æ). The mixed photosensitive emulsion should be stored out of light.

  • Guarantee period: one year before mixed preparation. But after mixed preparation, it can only be stored for about 2-3 month if sealed under dry and cool place. In normal circumstances, you'd better use it up as early as possible after mixed preparation.

Applying the emulsion is the chemical process of transferring image to a screen. In the direct coating process, a light-sensitive emulsion is applied to the entire screen using a scoop coater and allowed to dry. The screen is then exposed to a film positive image. The non-image areas of the emulsion harden upon exposure. However, the coating in the unexposed image areas remains soluble and is removed with a spray of warm water. Several coats of the light-sensitive material are applied and smoothed to achieve a long wearing screen.
