or rough surface.Test the hardness of the coating.It can be used in the
production process,such as the coil coating.
Structure and
principle :
Instruments for
mechanical three-point contact with the measured surface(two o’clock for
the round,is to lead core) is always guaranteed pencil and measured
surface 45 degree angle to the horizontal force pushing the instrument
movement to complete the testing process,measuring coating ability to
resist deformation.
Test principle:
he pencils of different hardness grades are moved on the surface of the
paint film at a 45 degree angle.The hardness of a pencil is determined
by two hardness levels.The softer one produces a trace,another hardness
level will produce a noticeable scratch on the coating.

The pencil hardness tester makes the test technically consistent with

Ensure that the strength and Angle remain constant throughout the test.The operation of the instrument is simple and the pressure of the pencil is affected by people.
Test program:
1) Put the tester on the flat(if the test piece is smaller than the
instrument,set test piece placed in front of the instrument and the
gasket on the bottom front of the instrument,the purpose is to maintain
the level of the instrument)
2) With a blade pencil,so refill protruding part about 2-5mm,and
polished in sandpaper,the pencil
into the instrument,so refill after contact with the test piece and
fixed locking(recommended:pencil is six gon,select a fixed plane,after
the test,a circumferential surface can be used three times) during the
test to remove the gasket.
3) With the thumb and middle finger to grasp the center of the two
wheels,The instrument from theback to push about 1-2cm away
instruments(Do not add any pressure to push the instrument).Determine
the hardness,see specimen for scratches,Recommended test pieces do at
least three locations or more,taking the average.
